Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park in Mile End is London's most urban woodland. The Friends run a varied programme of training, learning and leisure events open to all. Please wear sturdy shoes, long trousers and dress for the weather as we usually spend a lot of time outside. Introduction to Green Woodwork
Saturday 18 / Sunday 26 March / Sunday 2 April 10.00am - 4.00pm £47
Learn to use specialist green wood-working tools (Froe, Beetle, Small Hand Axe, Chopping Block, Draw Knife, Brace & Bit) whilst sat astride an authentic wooden Shaving Horse in the beautiful surroundings of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. You'll also be treated to a campfire vegetarian lunch and home-made chai tea.
New botany course series
Get To Know Your Wild Plants
Starts Saturday 1 April 10.00 - 15.30 £30/£25 per session
A series of days held on the first Saturday of the month throughout the summer, looking at wild plants, including trees and shrubs. We will identify plants, get to know their ecology, examine their structure and how they fit into their plant family, their pollination and other wildlife values, and their connections to human culture. Each event stands alone, but also builds on previous ones. Suitable for beginners, and more experienced participants will be given extra challenges. Each time, as well as looking at a wide range of plants, we will give special attention to one major family.
Bee Friendly! - Gardening for Pollinators

Local Bee expert Mark Patterson shares his knowledge of threats facing London's pollinators and how everyone can help them by choosing the right plants for their gardens. Includes a free goody bag to help you create a buzz at home.

Forest School is made up of a very wide range of experiences and adventures, which can include bush craft skills, whittling, fire lighting and cooking on fires, through to bug hunts and bird watching.
