Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park has an exciting programme of events for 2015 and beyond. Visitors can take advantage of an ever-expanding range of self-guided trails, guided walks and events. All profits raised from events go directly to the charity to ensure its continued success.
There is no need to book for events, unless otherwise stated. Where booking is required this will be clearly stated. All events will start from The Soanes Centre, Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, Southern Grove, Mile End, E3 4PX.

Knife Carving Workshop
Come and join us in the woods for carving and a light lunch. The day is suitable for absolute beginners. Learn the skills needed to carve a beautiful yet simple butter knife.This course will prepare you for more advanced carving courses. All training and tools are provided.- BOOK HERE

Art in the Park!
Come along and try out lots of different artistic techniques, with botanical artist Talya. Make a sun print, try out inks made from squashed berries, and learn the basics of mono-printing to create a beautiful jungle picture. Perfect for artistic naturalists! – BOOK HERE

Botanical Art Session
Join talented botanical illustrator, Talya, for an afternoon of experimental art focusing on the
beautiful wild flowers and plants found in Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. We will use a variety of different art techniques, from cyanotypes, inkblowing, pencil and pen work and much much more!

Botanical Photography Workshop
Join Natalie, from the Photoschool, for a practical photography workshop in Tower Hamlets’ visually-rich park, concentrating on the huge array of beautiful plants and flowers found within the Park. This workshop is aimed at beginners who are new to their camera.
Over 3 hours, take control of your camera’s settings and start to develop your photographic eye, learning from a range of professionally taken images plus hands-on practical support. – BOOK HERE

Dinner, Dinner, Bat Man!
Join us for an evening of bats and great food. This evening session is for beginners wanting to know a little more about bats, their ecology, biology and behaviour.
Ken, Cemetery Park Manager (and bat enthusiast!) will lead the evening, which will begin with a class room session. We will then head out into the park to look for our furry friends. Bat detectors will be supplied to help you identify the species which can be seen swooping around. Included in the price is a simple dinner made from wild food foraged from the park.
