Young film-makers win award for their film on fried Chicken!
Young people from the Mile End Community Project (MCP) won best film under the ‘freefall’ category at this year’s Limelight awards. Their short film explored the fried chicken phenomenon in Tower Hamlets and provided insight into what fried Chicken means to different communities.
HoodForts (the film-making strand of Mile End Community Project) now have eight awards to date for their diverse range of exploratory films. The film ‘Chicken’ has already been screened in Mumbai (India), the Cutting East Film Festival, Deutsche Bank (London), a range of NHS Public Health meetings, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, and continues to get requests.
The film will also be screened at next months Shuffle Festival.
