The existing Beatrice Tate School will be relocated from St Jude’s Road to the proposed site at Southern Grove. It will comprise an SEN School for approximately 75 pupils aged between 11 and 19. The building proposed is partially two and partially three storeys in height, with the taller element located towards Southern Grove.  The existing resource centre has been demolished. The main body of Southern Grove Lodge, former workhouse built in 1871, lies outside the site adjacent to its northern boundary. The single-storey boiler house extension of the Lodge which lies within the site has been demolished.
