Mile End Safer Neighbourhoods Team – Drop-in surgeries.

MERA encourage residents to go the meetings arranged by our local Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT).  The SNT team consists of PCSO’s (Police Community Support Officers) and PC’s (Police Constables) whose interest are the safety of local people. They are willing to listen and to follow up the issues that are brought to their attention.

This is what they say

Our team is comprised of Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) and we are dedicated to making your neighbourhood a safer place to live in, work in and visit. We listen and talk to you, and find out what affects your daily life and feelings of security. Our priorities are then set by the local community and we work with you and other agencies to find a lasting solution.

News on the street is that anti-social behaviour has reduced around the “Recipe Tree Garden” on Eric Street – a problem identified at the last public SNT meeting.  It seems some problems have been reported recently around the car park at Derwent House.
